PROJECTS IN EDUCATION

Projects in Education, a branch of the Fund for Education and Human Services, is a non-profit organization formed to administer training, research and service programs for educational institutions in the Metropolitan Washington D.C. area.

As of October 2013, Projects in Education in collaboration with the Howard University School of Education will provide low-cost, non-degree, graduate-level credit to participants in professional development training programs. The graduate credits can be used for teacher certification, salary increments, or for recertification/seat hours, where applicable. These professional development courses cannot be applied to any degree-granting programs of Howard University.

Howard University was chartered by the U.S. Congress in March 1867 and is accredited by the Midle States Commission on Higher Education(MSCHE). The School of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of  Teacher Education (NCATE) and has five nationally recognized programs holding specialty accreditation from discipline-based (Specialized Professional Associations (SPAs).
